Jean-Yves Bignoux
Jean-Yves Bignoux is an Underwater Photographer/Nature and Photojournalist based and living on the island of Mauritius. Currently shooting for Plongees Mauriciennes-Mauritian Dive Magazine for reportage. Originally from Australia from the the southern city of Melbourne. He divides his time between Underwater Photography, Social Documentary Reportage, Environmental Photojournalism and Travel Features. Jean-Yves studied Underwater Photography in Australia, and has dived extensively in the Southern region of Australia for 7 years and has photographed the region underwater. He is also a Scuba Diving Instructor and has worked in the past in Mauritius in dive centres, while photographing the underwater realm for environmental purposes and assignments. He also does reportage on the current environmental state of the oceans around the world. He has travelled and shot in Australia, Hong Kong, Mauritius, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa for the purposes of Travel Features. Within Jean-Yves Underwater Photography he likes to express the oceans and seas in all its mystical wonders that lay beneath its surface and the people and places that have a bond with them. He likes to express the current human condition and and state of the human race through his pictures, when he is not underwater. Mainly in the fields of reportage in social and environmental affairs worldwide.
